Configuring Check Packages for SmartRecruiters

Use CheckWorkRights to configure packages of checks in SmartRecruiters

Updated over a month ago

The integration between CheckWorkRights and SmartRecruiters facilitates the email-based completion of custom 'packages' of employment checks.

It also allows SmartRecruiters users to request different checks based on the job role the candidate is applying for. Checks can be requested based on a hiring process configured in SmartRecruiters, or ad hoc via the assessments area of the candidates profile. This article deals with manually setting up check packages in CheckWorkRights.

Check Package Types

You can create packages of checks to suit your organisation's specific needs based on a variety of criteria. Commonly, this is achieved by either creating a package based on a single check type (eg. work entitlement check, police check etc.) or based on a role type (eg. bar manager employment checks).

Creating Check Packages in CheckWorkRights

Once your SmartRecruiters integration is connected, you'll need to manually create your packages of checks in CheckWorkRights for use in SmartRecruiters.
โ€‹
Visit the Admin > Integrations > SmartRecruiters configuration area in CheckWorkRights.

From here you can add a check package, including the package name and description to appear in SR, and the CWR checks that will be bundled together as part of this package.

The configuration here is extremely flexible. You can choose to have one package for all necessary checks, several packages for each required check, or a mix of both to deal with specific job roles. If you have any custom checks set up via CheckBuilder, you'll see these available here too.

Select the checks you want to include in your new package, and click 'Add Package' to save.

Adding Police Checks

If you select 'Police Check' under Choose Checks, you'll need to input a Reason for Police Check as well as a Location of Role in order for checks to be completed.

'Reason for Police Check' refers to what job and role the employee will be performing. If you they will be working in multiple roles, choose the main role. Examples include:Commercial Cleaner, Software Developer, Office Manager.

'Location of Role' refers to what location and site the employee will be working at, and the nature of the site. Examples include: Melbourne Head Office, Westfield Sydney Outlet Store, Brisbane High School.

If you need to make any changes to your check package, return to the Admin > Integrations > SmartRecruiters configuration area in CWR and click 'edit' next to your new check package.
