Scanning Contractor QR Codes

Using the CWR mobile application QR scanning tool

Updated over a week ago

Overview

The CheckWorkRights QR code scanning feature is designed to verify the work entitlements of employees from contracted labour hire companies.

By scanning the QR code presented by the employee, the system confirms their entitlements and provides you with an image of a document provided by the individual so that you can complete a photo identity verification for added security and accuracy.

To scan a QR code via CheckWorkRights you must have this functionality enabled in your account. Please contact CheckWorkRights to enable the scanning of QR codes. If it is not enabled, the Scan QR Code button shown in step 2 below will not appear.

Download the CWR mobile application from the relevant app store

How to Scan?

Step 1

Please ask the individual whose work entitlements you wish to verify to present their QR code, which will have been issued to them by their labour hire employer. The QR code will resemble the example shown below."

Step 2

Launch the CheckWorkRights app on your mobile device and navigate to the home screen. Tap the 'Scan QR Code' button to begin the verification process.

Step 3

Position your phone's camera over the QR code, and the app will automatically scan it in real-time.

Step 4

Once the QR code is scanned, the app will display a clear and intuitive result indicator:

Green: The individual is cleared to work without restrictions.

Yellow: The individual can work with caution. Additional details will be provided to explain the reason for this cautionary status. In such cases, it's recommended that you consult your HR Department for guidance specific to your organisation's policies and procedures.

Red: The individual is not authorised to work.

Step 5

Next, scroll down the page to view the document featuring the individual's photo. This step is crucial to verify that the photo matches the person presenting the QR code. If the match is confirmed to your satisfaction, you can:

- Select 'Done' to complete the process

- Choose 'Scan Another' if you need to verify additional individuals, and repeat the process

Offline – Out of mobile range

Our application requires a mobile data signal or wifi connection to work. The alternate workflow for sites outside of mobile range is to take photos of the QR codes that you are wanting to scan, and then scan them one by one as a group when returning to a mobile coverage or wifi area.
