The Casual Employment Information Statement (CEIS) check records that a casual employee has received and acknowledged the Fair Work Ombudsman's Casual Employment Information Statement — a government-issued document all casual employees are legally entitled to receive under the Fair Work Act 2009.
CheckWorkRights automates ongoing delivery of the CEIS every 6 months to meet this requirement. Employees are asked to review the statement and agree to having received it, providing a timestamped audit trail.
Step 1: Enable the check on your account
Contact the CheckWorkRights team to enable the check in your account.
Step 2: Assign the check to your casual workforce
The check can be assigned:
Manually: Adding New Checks
Bulk Check Function:
Navigate to Employee tab → Select ‘Make bulk changes’ → Select the employees you would like to send the CEIS check to → from the ‘Actions’ tab select enable checks → from the list choose check ‘Casual Employment Information Statement’ → Confirm you action.
Once the check is enable the system will email MyCheck requests to all employees who require the check as part of the regular MyCheck email updates between 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm AEST.

Identify your casual employees and use our Bulk upload process to assign the check to existing employees.

Candidate/Employee Experience:
Candidates/ Employees will be sent a MyCheck request to review and acknowledge the Casual Employment Information Statement. The MyCheck workflow, includes information about why they are receiving this check request, and asks them to confirm they have reviewed the document.
Once they click start they will be shown the CEIS statement, a link to Fair Work website and the option to download the document if required.
After accepting that they have reviewed the document, the ‘Complete’ button will allow them to finish the workflow.
Verifier Experience:
There is no verification for this check, once agreed by the individual their acknowledgement is recorded and visible in the check.
Renewal Requirements:
A 6-month expiry timeline will be applied to the check from the date the check is acknowledged by the employee.
CheckWorkRights will resend the check to be reviewed and acknowledged again through the MyCheck workflow every 6 months, continuing to add the history of acknowledgement to the audit log.
Dashboard and Reporting
Your CheckWorkRights dashboard displays the data on Casual Employment Information Statement checks for you at a glance.
Green - All Employees who have acknowledged they have read and received the CEIS
Yellow - Checks that have not been acknowledged in last 6 months, this cohort are being emailed a reminder weekly to complete.
Pending Count: Employees who have been sent the check but have not yet completed the acknowledgement will appear in the pending tab, CheckWorkRights will send a MyCheck request email reminder every 3 days to remind them.
Expiring Soon Count: Employees whose acknowledgement will expire in the next 90 days will appear in the expiry count section of the dashboard.
FAQ’s:
My employee is no longer a casual and I don’t need to send the CEIS anymore, how do I remove the check?
A: The check will need to be disabled, this allows the previous agreements to the CEIS to be visible in the employee profile if required for an audit.
Is there audit history for when they acknowledged the check?
A: The CheckWorkRights system records the date and will shows the latest document the employee acknowledged. Previous agreement dates are visible in the check history tab of the CEIS check.
