When a right to work check is completed for Foreign and Australian Citizens, there are multiple possible results. ### Australian Citizen The employee has declared that they are an **Australian Citizen** and provided evidence to support their declaration. Once the evidence document is verified, they have full working rights in Australia. ![](https://support.checkworkrights.com.au/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Screenshot+2025-05-08+at+11_11_59+am.png) ### Unlimited The employee is a Visa holder, and has full working rights in Australia. They have **no limitations** on their work entitlement. Their visa type listed may vary. ![](https://support.checkworkrights.com.au/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Screenshot+2025-05-08+at+11_13_08+am.png) ### Limited The employee **has limitations** to their work entitlement in Australia. Each **Limited** result will indicate what limitations the employee has, and the conditions associated with their visa type. There are exceptions for **No Valid Visa** with a New Zealand passport, click [here](https://45598359.hs-sites-ap1.com/support/no-valid-visa-on-a-new-zealand-passport-support-articles?hsLang=en-au) to find out more. **Visa Expired** means the employee previously held a visa that has now passed its expiry date. They most likely no longer have the right to work in Australia. Until a valid VEVO check shows a visa with work rights, a candidate or employee in this status should not be hired or removed from rosters. ​ **Visa Cancelled** means the employee's visa has been cancelled by the Department of Home Affairs. They no longer have any work rights in Australia. A cancelled visa may result from breaches of visa conditions or changes in personal circumstances. You should not allow this employee to work until a new visa is granted and a VEVO check confirms the right to work whilst holding the new visa. ### NIL Work Entitlement The employee is on a valid visa but **does not have valid working rights in Australia**. For example, a visitor visa. Possible reasons are; incorrectly entered details, a new passport that is not on record at DHA, or an electronic visa record is not linked to the passport provided.
